With the Federal Stimulus money comes more help for people who want to weatherize their house.  Through Help of Southern Nevada the Nevada Housing Division has a Low Income Weatherization Assistance Program.  The following information will help you get going.

Application Process

The following documentation must be provided by anyone interested in receiving Low Income Weatherization Assistance.  Interested parties can either; call their local service provider (Help of Southern Nevada) or complete, print, and sign the necessary forms and send to their local service provider.

The following documentation is required to process your application.
Completed Application
Signed Notice of Rights and Obligations
Copy of the three (3)  most recent pay stubs, or a copy of all benefit statements.  (This information must be provided for all persons residing in the household.)
Copy of your power bill and/or gas bill (both if applicable).
For homeowners, a copy of your deed or tax bill showing ownership.
For renters, Weatherization Service Agreement signed by your landlord.

Mail your completed application packet containing the above mentioned forms and documentation to the service provider for your service area (Help of Southern Nevada).

I read an article about a hybrid car that gets an impressive 230 mpg!  It is a 3 wheeled two seater.  Aptera is the name.  They are ready to go into production in late 2008.  The approximate price for the all electric version is $26,900 and the plug-in hybrid $29,900.  These prices are subject to change any time before we begin production.  Too bad they are only going to start selling in California.

I ran across this article today.  The image below shows carbon dioxide emissions inventory of the US plotted down to 100 square-kilometer chunks.

So, for my first entry I have found a website that has a web-based do-it-yourself energy audit tool.
