At its regular meeting March 22, 2011, the City Council placed a moratorium on the number of noncommercial message signs as described in Title 11-24-9C of the Boulder City Code. See Resolution No. 5713 attached.
We no longer issue permits for temporary signs if they're for noncommercial messages, such as political signs, per our current sign ordinance.
In residential zones people are allowed to have noncommercial message signs on their property at ANY TIME of the year, per the current sign code restrictions for number and size (see brochure).
EXTRA sign area for noncommercial message signs is permitted during the 60 days prior to a primary, special or general election. (The additional amount is specified in the code and brochure.)
For the scheduled elections this year:
60 days before the April 5, 2011 Primary Election is FRIDAY, February 4th.
60 days before the June 7, 2011 General Election is FRIDAY, April 8th.
