ELECTRIC UTILITY ADMINISTRATOR POSITION This hands-on division head position serves as head of the Electrical Distribution Division of the City and assumes total management responsibility of assuring the continuous and reliable transmission and distribution of electrical power to the City of Boulder City. This position engineers plans, organizes and directs the work of the Electric Distribution Division. Work requires travel to other City locations as well as sites outside the City. This is an exempt position and as such is not eligible for the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
QUALIFICATIONS A strong management level background in providing high quality operations of an electric utility. An individual who has current and comprehensive experience in developing strategic priorities, goals, and objectives, including establishing criteria to determine efficiency and effectiveness of an electric utility.
Must have the ability to define the responsibilities, authority, and accountability of all direct subordinate employees and provide them with regular reviews and general guidance.

Education, Training and Experience This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of responsible engineering field and office work with an electric utility; at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
Have a strong management level background in providing high quality operation of an electric utility. Have superior written and oral communication skills and the ability to personally communicate in a straightforward, concise and effective manner with elected officials, City Manager, staff and community. Have sufficient experience to effectively utilize computer systems and technologies.
Special Requirements, Licenses and Certificates Valid state driver's license with ability to obtain Nevada driver's license within required time frame. All licenses must be valid throughout incumbency.

BoulderCity is seeking Substation Maintenance Technician to perform skilled electrical work in the maintenance and operation of high voltage transmission and distribution equipment of the municipally-owned electrical distribution system.Positions in this class may specialize in the maintenance of equipment located in electric substations or maintenance of electric or telephone and computer systems in City owned facilities.

This position is under the direct supervision of the chain of command and dispatches emergency and non-emergency equipment and personnel in response to calls for service, including police, fire, rescue, and animal control using a two-way radio and provides information to police officers using a teletype.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year recent satisfactory service as a full time public safety dispatcher in a local law enforcement or firefighting agency.

Lateral entry applicants will need to have current certification in EMD, MPDS, NCIC/NCJIS, and CPR from the State of Nevada or had previous certification and have the ability to re-certify upon completion of the FTEP, and pass the proficiency test every two years as required by the State of Nevada as a condition of continued employment. Those certified in a state other than Nevada will be required to meet Nevada standards/certification prior to successfully completing the FTEP phase. If required certifications are not acquired within that time frame, immediate termination may result.

Applicants will be required to complete a City of Boulder City application form and include an original certificate of typing indicating the required 40 words net per minute; complete a Personal History Statement and undergo an extensive background investigation including a credit check.
Applicants must possess an appropriate valid State of Nevada Motor Vehicle Operatorxs License at time of appointment.
Applicants must possess experience in NCIC/NCJIS (National Crime Information Center, Nevada Criminal Justice Information Computer Systems) and be able to pass the proficiency test every two years as required by the State of Nevada.

Police Auxiliary members perform a service to the community without compensation. Members of the Police Auxiliary are not allowed to carry weapons and are not provided with arrest powers.
