Boulder City Police Department has many programs dealing with crime prevention.These programs are ideally suited to the public to enable citizens to take control of some of the crime prevention process. This process enables Police Officers to be more aware and informed about what is taking place in the community, and assists them in the prevention of crimes.
Crime Prevention Programs:
1. Bicycle I.D. Program. Providing the means to help identify a lost or stolen bicycle. 2. Business Alert. Providing the businesses of Boulder City with the knowledge to protect their businesses from crime. 3. CCOP (Cellular Citizens on Patrol). Thirty-five members currently provide their eyes and ears for the Police Department. 4. D.A.R.E. Giving the children of Boulder City the tools and peer group support necessary to resist drugs and alcohol. 5. Halloween Pumpkin Car. Provides high officer visibility on Halloween Night by passing out candy and anti-crime messages to trick-or-treaters. 6. Juvenile Conference Committee. Providing community based solutions to behavior problems of Boulder City juveniles. 7. McGruff Truck. Elementary school children have been instructed to look for the McGruff symbol on City Utility vehicles. The children know that the City workers can contact the police in emergency situations. 8. Neighborhood Watch. Providing the citizens of Boulder City with the tools and knowledge to protect themselves and their neighbors from becoming victims of crime. 9. Operation Reminder. Leaving a notification on property regarding open doors, unsecured bicycles, and other security problems. 10. Operation We Care. A written venue enabling the citizens of Boulder City to bring non-emergency problem areas to the attention of the Police Department. 11. Property Watch. Providing some peace of mind for Boulder City residents that their home is being looked after while they are out of town.
